I COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP ON THIS… IF ANYBODY CAN EXPLAIN THIS OR AT LEAST THE FIRST TWO QUESTIONS IT WOULD HELP ME !! (thanks)

I am unclear on how to solve this. I thought that I had the df’s figured out , but now I am not sure that I did it right because I can not find the #’s on the chart. How I did it was N=40 (because there are 40 numbers total, S(Subjects) I believe there to be 4 subjects.. freshman, sophm,jr, sr so…..S=4, and a=4 (because there are 4 levels):

N=40

S=4

a=4

then df betwn: a-1= 4-1=3

df w/in= N-a=40-4=36

df subjects=s-1=4-1=3

df error=df w/in-df subj= 36-3=33

df total=n-1=40-1=39

then find 3 and 33 on chart which is not on there!! and also the alpha is not on the hw.. so I assume its 0.05 so I guess I must be doing it wrong.

CAN ANYBODY CLARIFY ??? or help me figure this out?????
